    First National Bank of America is a niche lender and a national leader in Non-Qualified Mortgages. Opening doors for customers underserved by other banks is why we come to work every day. We are growing our Residential Operations team and are seeking qualified candidates to join our closing team.

    This individual manages the closing process between First National, its customers, and title companies. The role requires an attention to detail and a passion for providing fantastic service to customers. A successful Loan Closer must be able to multi-task, problem solve, and communicate clearly. The Loan Closer will prepare closing documents for First National customers, balance funding amounts with title companies, ensure loan conditions have been met, and prepare/issue funds to settlement agents.

    Responsibilities

    Essential Functions & Responsibilities

    • Work with title, escrow, settlement agents and attorneys to facilitate the closing of a residential loan 
    • Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of loan documents 
    • Review Loan for compliance with RESPA, RESPA tolerances, TILA and MDIA 
    • Prepare and send out closing disclosures (CD) for borrowers to sign 
    • Review all pre-closing requirements including hazard insurance & flood certifications 
    • Draw and release closing documents to the designated Closing Agent 
    • Updating, reviewing and validating loan data to ensure loan documents are accurate 
    • Review loan file to ensure all conditions of loan approval have been met and signed off by the appropriate party. 
    • Review signed loan documents to verify completed, signed and dated as required 
    • Balance final figures with the closing agent 
    • Authorize the release of funds to the borrower 

    Qualifications

    Experience

    • Min 5 years of mortgage industry experience
    • Min 3 years of mortgage closing experience
    • Min 2 years of working with Encompass LOS
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

    Education

    • A high school diploma or equivalent

    Physical Requirements

    • Requires effective communication with customers and/or other employees using common telecommunications equipment and computer equipment. Must be able to read, examine, and organize documents. May require the ability to sit, stand, and walk around for extended periods of time.
