Overview

First National Bank of America's Loan Servicing Team is looking for a professional, genial, and highly organized Insurance Specialist to ensure accurate and timely disbursement of insurance escrow funds and compliance with all regulatory guidelines.  The Insurance Specialist will work with borrowers and insurers to accurately handle our borrower’s insurance needs, providing exceptional service to all.  The successful candidate will have an eye for detail, problem-solving abilities, a capability to multi-task and prioritize, and strong written and oral communication skills. The ideal candidate would enjoy working in a collaborative and supportive in-person work environment, while maintaining compliance.

 

Job Type: Full-time

 

Location: On-site in our Lansing, MI office

Responsibilities

  • Monitor accounts to ensure insurance requirements are met
  • Certify accurate data entry of insurance policies and changes
  • Facilitate the timely payment of insurance premiums on escrowed accounts
  • Prompt placement and removal of force placed insurance in accordance to regulations
  • Adhere to regulatory guidelines related to flood, hazard, and force-placed insurance
  • Clearly and concisely communicate in a timely manner with borrowers, fellow employees, and insurance providers to answer insurance and escrow related questions
  • Verify and perform escrow setup and maintenance, escrow tracking and verification, disbursement, and escrow analysis reporting
  • Review, evaluate and process requests to eliminate escrow accounts including knowledge of guidelines on requirements
  • Process and monitor insurance claims, handling document procurement and payouts

Qualifications

  • Engaging communication skills (telephone, e-mail, and in-person) with excellent attention to detail and follow-through
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Insurance or mortgage experience beneficial, but not required
  • Bilingual communication, in Spanish or Portuguese, desired, but not required
